   State MRCC – State Maritime Rescue Coordination Center in Odesa was created in accordance with requirements of International Conventions SOLAS-74 and SAR-79 is part of State Enterprise Marine Search and Rescue Service (SE "MSRS").
The main functions of State Maritime Rescue Coordination Center (State MRCC):
- Receiving, confirming and retransmitting of distress signals;
- Coordination of SAR response measures;
- Conduction of SAR missions.
  Also, for maximum coverage of search and rescue region of Ukraine, Maritime Rescue Sub-Center (MRSC) functions in the city Berdiansk, working within the framework of State MRCC.
MRSC Sevastopol and MRSC Kerch are located on the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic Crimea and are beyond control of MRCC.
  In state MRCC and MRSC highly qualified duty officers are on watch 24/7, and are always ready to receive the distress signal and plan the SAR mission within the Search and Rescue region of Ukraine.
