On August 11, 2016 at 00:08 Duty Officer of State Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre of SE "MSRS" received a message from Skadovsk District Office of State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Kherson Region about forcing need for medical help and hospitalization for the 23-year-old female citizen of Moldova and her 25-year-old male friend from Kyiv who enjoyed rest on the island Dzharylgach and started feeling bad.
On 24.11.2015 a joint training SAR mission on search and rescue of people in distress was carried out in the vicinity of Illichivsk Port of the Black Sea, in the coastal zone of Ukraine’s SAR area.
On 12 – 13 October 2015 the 12th Black Sea SAR Conference took place in Istanbul (Turkey).
The Conference’s work was participated by representatives of the relevant authorities of Turkey, Bulgariam Georgia, Romania, a\nd Ukraine.
According to the announcement by Cospas-Sarsat Secretariat and pursuant to Turkey’s consent toward supporting the SPOC of Ukraine, State Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre of Maritime Search and Rescue Service, Branch of SE USPA, is receiving emergency data of Cospas-Sarsat from the Turkish Mission Coordination Centre (TRMCC) starting from 01 September 2015, employing agreed communication channels. Nevertheless, the existing coverage area of the Cospas Mission Centre (CMC) are not changing.
With a view of enhancing effectiveness of search and rescue operations in the area of responsibility of Ukraine, optimization of interaction among state bodies operating at sea, on 29 of July 2015 combined exercise on search and rescue of people in distress at sea had been conducted according to the Plan elaborated by Marine Search and Rescue Service (MSRS).
