EMSA experts meets with the management of the State Enterprise "Marine Search and Rescue Service"

2016.

 

On 10 November 2016 a mission of experts from the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) was finished in Odesa. The main purpose of that mission had been preparation of a new technical assistance project by the EU. This new project will embrace the Black and Caspian Seas coastal countries and become a logical extension of the project ‘TRACECA: Maritime Security and Safety II’ completed on 31 July this year.

On 19-21 September SE MSRS conducted Safety Day

2016.

 

From 19 to 21 September SE MSRS carried out a check of the SAR boat PRK-05 crew’s readiness in Skadovsk port where it is deployed, as a part of improvement of professional skills in the sphere of safety securing, safety culture level rising, emergency situation prevention, and readiness towards their elimination.

Disembarkation of the ill from m/v RIVER PRIDE

2016.

 

On 14 September 2016 at 15:07 LT Duty Coordinator of the State MRCC of MSRS received a notice from Master of m/v RIVER PRIDE (IMO 8324593, flag DR Kongo) about a crew member, subject of Georgia, aboard the vessel needing urgent medical help due to his abrupt health deterioration leading to the necessity of hospital cure.

Help to m\v MEHMET UNLU near Port Yuzhny

2016.

On the 4th of September, 2016, at 23:15 the duty officer of State Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre received a distress alert from the captain of the m/v MEHMET UNLU (flag of Turkey, IMO 920029). The ship was on her way from Mykolaiv to Jordan, lost control and the power was switched off. Additionally, the Port Control Duty Officer of the port of Yuzhny informed that there was a fight between the crew members and there are injured onboard. The duty officer announced the stage of alert. It was decided to prepare and involve the search and rescue boats “PRK-01” and “PRK-02” of SE “MSRS”.

Evacuation of passengers from the yacht "Lana"

2016.

On August 22, 2016 at 17:16 the duty-officer at the State Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre of SE "MPRS" received the notice by the Port State Control duty captain of the Port Base of Vylkove that there is a damaged yacht "Lana" near the Zmeiniy Island (Ukraine flag). 7 passengers on board, all citizens of Ukraine (2 women, 2 men and 3 children), need urgent evacuation ashore.

Duty officer announced phase of distress. It was decided to involve the search and rescue boat "PRK-03" of SE "MSRS" based in Zatoka Bay.

At 20:40 the crew of "PRK-03" successfully evacuated the suffering persons from the yacht and delivered them to the Port Base of Vylkove.

Operation on evacuation of the passengers from the yacht was finished. There is no threat to the lives of people.
