25th anniversary of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was celebrated in Odesa

2017.

On the 2nd of July management and speedboats of the Marine Search and Rescue Service took part in celebration of the Day of the Naval Forces of Ukraine and the Marine and Inland Water Transport Workers Day.
In the morning on the occasion of the celebration, accompanied by the Naval orchestra, the naval and dressing flags on boards of vessels moored in the area of the Odesa Sea Port including the Ukrainian Naval flagship "Hetman Sahaidachnyi" were risen up.

Massive exercises in the waters of the Black Sea

2017.

Today, on the 21st of June rescuers of the State Enterprise "Marine Search and Rescue Service" participate in training of governing authorities, forces and facilities of the aeronautical search and rescue system in the Black Sea.
Organization and planning of exercises was made by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in accordance with "Rules on Aeronautical Search and Rescue in Ukraine".
Crews of aircrafts of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, aviation and seagoing ships of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine worked together with crews of SAR vessels of the SE "MSRS".
According to the exercises' scenario the plane Boeing 737-800 made an emergency landing on water in the north-western part of the Black Sea 100 km apart from the airport "Odesa". The main objective of exercises was to conduct mass rescue operations on search and rescue. Detailed tasks were precisely worked out by all the services.
The following crafts were engaged in search and rescue of sufferers, namely, the rescue tug "Vitiaz" and the search and rescue speedboat "PRK-02" of the SE "MSRS", the aircraft AN-32P and the helicopter MI-8 of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the helicopter KA-27p and the ambulance boat "Sokal" of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In the international airport "Odesa" and in the "Commercial Sea Port "Chornomorsk" two stations for providing assistance to sufferers from the aircraft accident were deployed.
Coordination of actions of all engaged forces and facilities was provided jointly by Main Aviation Coordination Centre on Search and Rescue and the State MRCC of the SE "MSRS".

Representatives of the SE “MSRS” have taken the part in the 98th session of the Maritime Safety Committee in London

2017.

During the period of June 7-16, the 98th session of the Maritime Safety Committee was held at the headquarters of the International Maritime Organization.
During the consideration of the item 11 of the agenda "Navigation, Communications and Search and Rescue" the Ukrainian delegation have made a Declaration. The text of this Declaration was worked out in the close cooperation between SE "MSRS" and the Embassy of Ukraine of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
In the Declaration, it is emphasized on unlawful actions of the Russian Federation that are intended to interfere in activity of Ukraine concerning fulfillment its international obligations in regard to search and rescue at sea. Attention of delegates was drawn to the violation be the Russian side the fundamental principles and norms of the international law in the field of search and rescue, as well as safety of navigation.
On the 23rd of April, 2017, an accident occurred during the regular training of forces and facilities of the Marine Search and Rescue Service. Russian Federation tried to overtake the Ukrainian rescue speedboat. The Ukrainian delegation described such actions of the Russian side as the deliberate provocation that violates provisions of the Agreement on Cooperation regarding Maritime Search and Rescue Services among Black Sea Coastal States 1998 and the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Russian Federation on Cooperation in Maritime and Aviation Search and Rescue in the Black and Azov Seas 2010.
It was also declared that the blatant disregard of principles and norms of the international law and the illegal occupation of the Crimean Peninsula transform the Northern part of the Black Sea into "grey zone" for the international maritime navigation.

The minister of infrastructure of Ukraine Volodymyr Omelyan awarded the crew of high speed rescue boat of SE “Marine Search and Rescue Service”

2017.

Today, on May 12, the minister of infrastructure of Ukraine Volodymyr Omelyan awarded the officers of State Enterprise "Marine Search and Rescue Service", who during the regular training prevented the SAR speed boat from overtaking by Russian vessel.
Six officers of State Enterprise "Marine Search and Rescue Service" received notes of acknowledgement for their professionalism and personal work achievements during official duty performance.

The session of Coordination Committee for Search and Rescue at Sea

2017.

  Today, on the 18th of April the first session of Coordination Committee for Search and Rescue at Sea took place in Kyiv.
The participants listened to the report provided by the director of State Enterprise "Marine search and rescue service" Victor Sudarev, who highlighted the actual problems of fulfilment of International Convention of Maritime Search and Rescue (SAR 79) , International Convention of Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS 74) and the Agreement on cooperation regarding maritime search and rescue services among Black sea coastal states (Ankara 1998) in the search and rescue region of Ukraine.        Also, during the session the strategic development plan of Marine search and rescue service was introduced for 2017-2021.
The deputy director and the secretary of State Coordination Committee, Vladimir Robotnyov, reported about the projects of Strategies about national system of maritime search and rescue in the search and rescue region of Ukraine and the resolution of Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine "About the increasing of effectiveness of functioning of National system of search and rescue in the maritime search and rescue region of Ukraine".
