Rescue of the crew of the tug “Parallel”

2018.

 On November 19th at 09:01 the duty officer of the State Maritime Rescue Coordination Center (MRCC) of the State Enterprise "Marine Search and Rescue Service" of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine received a distress signal from the tug "Parallel", under the flag of Ukraine, which was heading from Kherson Skadovsk.

The exercises of the rescue vessel «Sapfir» (Photoreport 08-10.2018)

2018.

 From August to October the rescue vessel "Sapfir" of the State Enterprise "Marine Search and Rescue Service" of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine continued the conduction of exercising voyages along SAR region of Ukraine in the Black Sea.
The crew conducted exercises for providing aid to the vessel in distress crew in different weather conditions. The testing of the radio communication system was also conducted.

Assistance to a crew of the yacht “Kateryna”

2018.

 On the 21st of October at 10:15 a duty officer of the State Maritime Rescue and Coordination Centre of the State Enterprise "Marine Search and Rescue Service" of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine received information from the tug "Hepard" that a crew of the yacht "Kateryna" needs assistance.
 The vessel is located 16 nautical miles from a shore on outer harbor of the Odesa port. The yacht is drifting to south because of broken mast and damaged screw and steering set. 9 people are on board.

Search and rescue operation in the Black Sea

2018.

 On October 13th at 03:11 UTC an alert from the vessel "FOM", under the flag of Panama was received by the duty officer of the State Maritime Coordination Center of the State Enterprise "Marine Search and Rescue Service" of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine. The vessel was heading towards port Hereke (The Republic of Turkey) with the cargo of scrap metal and with 8 crew members aboard.
The alert was identified and confirmed by the MRCC duty officer using the appropriate databases and technical resources.
 The "distress" stage was announced by the duty officer and the necessary measures regarding search and rescue operations were taken.
 A decision to use the specialized fleet of SE "MSRS" was made, that is to use the sea tug "Sapfir" and search and rescue speed boat PRK-01, which were heading to the place of conduction of SAR operation.
Basing on the International SAR Manual (IAMSAR) the m/v "MINERVA MARINE" was defined as on scene coordinator, as it was close to the m/v "FOM".

The overall of functioning of State Enterprise “Marine Search and Rescue Service” from January to September 2018

2018.

 During the covered period from January to September 2018 State Maritime Rescue Coordination Center of SE "MSRS" Odesa together with Rescue Coordination Sub-center Berdiansk have processed about 137 alerts in the area of responsibility of Ukraine.
Including:
- 5 search and rescue operations were performed;
- 32 joint search and rescue exercises were performed together with other enterprises and entities;
- 5 medical advisements by telephone were organized;
- 3 medical evacuations according to medical condition were performed.
 Overall 18 people were rescued. There are no deceased.
