2014.

On 23 - 24 October 2014 representatives of Branch ‘Maritime Search and Rescue Service’ of State Enterprise ‘Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority’, namely Natalia Ortina, Head of Odessa Coast Radio Station, and Yevhen Zakharov, Deputy Head of the GMDSS Sites Technical Maintenance Division, have taken part in the regular scientific and technical conference devoted to problems of radio-communications and radio-navigation development in GMDSS, AIS, STS and RIS networks sponsored by Odessa National Marine Academy (ONMA) and Hetman Konashevych-Sahaidachyi Kyiv State Academy of Water Transport (KSAWT), with support of Odessa Branch, Institute of Marine Engineering, Science & Technology (IMarEST), UK.

The 11th Black Sea Search and Rescue Conference in Bulgaria

2014.

The 11th Black Sea Search and Rescue Conference took place in Varna (Bulgaria) on 21-22 October 2014 y. (hereinafter - the Conference)

 

The Conference was attended by representatives of the competent authorities of Bulgaria, Georgia, Romania, Turkey and Ukraine.

SAR Mission in Area Illychivsk

2014.

On June 11, 2014 at 13.35 the forces of Branch "MSRS" SE "USPA" rescued a fancy fisherman, who, in adverse weather conditions, was swept out to the high sea in a rubber boat.

SAR mission in Berdyansk area, the Azov Sea

2013.

On Saturday 19 October 2013 at about 15.00 LT the State Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (SMRCC) was informed by the Chief Directorate of the State Service of Ukraine on Emergencies (SSUE) for Zaporizhzhya Region that a fisherman Vasyl Bobyr, born in 1942, was washed up to the high seas in his wooden boat in the vicinity of the village Kulykivske near Berdyansk.

Sub-regional training for SAR Administrators

2013.

Sub-regional training for SAR Administrators took place in Odessa from 10 to 12 September 2013 organised by the IMO and hosted by Marine Search and Rescue Service of Ukraine. Representatives of SAR services from all the 6 Black Sea littoral states participated in the course. Such training was the first ever held in Ukraine.
