30.05.2013 Soft and hardware complex for the functions of control and management of technological processes of SAR at the Black and Azov Sea has commenced its work
To meet requirements of the international conventions Ukraine being a party to, and to raise the current level of shipping safety, the state enterprise Marine Search and Rescue Service in accord with its main objective has taken proper steps improving the existing organizational and technical background and further development of the national system of search and rescue in the maritime SAR area of Ukraine.
The newbuilt soft hardware complex for the functions of control and management of technological processes of SAR at the Black and Azov Sea has commenced its work on 30 May 2013 in the testing mode.
The complex consists of Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Subcentre and the Operational Control Centre of the Shore Radio Facility in Kerch, as well as the automated Base Station in Yurkino village.
The project design is based upon the modern technical developments realised in practice. The LLC Transas Ukraine worked as a general contractor.
As the next phase of the Ukraine’s national SAR system development it is envisaged to settle down new automated base stations along the Azov Sea north coastline, which would be run by the integral shore-based Operational Control Centre in Kerch.
Search and rescue of human life at sea is among the paramount elements of the state system of shipping safety procurement, and in this case it is worth to indicate the incessant support by Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine for the attainment of the tasks set.
