On October the 4th the delegation of the Embassy of France in Ukraine headed by the Ambassador Etienne de Poncins, together with the representatives of the company "Airbus" visited State Enterprise "Maritime Search and Rescue Service".
It should be noted, that this was the first visit of the Ambassador to Odessa, as he was appointed only in August this year.
The honorable guests had a possibility to learn about the activity of the enterprise, paying special attention to its main tasks and functions.
The members of the delegation had a possibility to visit State Maritime Rescue Coordination Center (MRCC Odesa), which performs the monitoring of accidents at sea, as well as communication, coordination and search and rescue in the SAR region of Ukraine.
MRCC is fully equipped in accordance with the IMO requirements (COMSAR Circ.37/2005) having two duty officers and performs its functions 24/7.
During the visit to the specialized SAR fleet, the delegation was informed, that the fleet of Maritime Search and Rescue Service is in fifteen-minute readiness to perform search and rescue operations.
During the meeting special attention was paid to the negotiations with the "Airbus", devoted to the usage of modern aeronautical units during the conduction of SAR operations at sea.
The parties noted the importance of support and further cooperation with the "Airbus" on a state level.
The director of SE "MSRS" Viktor Sudarev noted, that the visit of the Ambassador to the SE "MSRS" is highly important and will lead to enhancement of cooperation between our countries, including the field of maritime search and rescue.
