From 25 to 26 September in Lisbon, Portugal, took place a special project training on search and rescue. The event was supported by the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) within the framework of Maritime Safety, Security and Marine environmental Protection in the Black and Caspian Sea Regions project.
The representatives of State Enterprise "Maritime Search and Rescue Service" took part in the abovementioned training in order to learn about new SAR methods, technologies of the leading coastal states and to exchange experience with the SAR service specialists.
Also, the information was received on cooperation within the EMSA pilot project in the sphere of maritime safety in the new Maritime SAR Module ( first of all the program on on-scene vessel identification). A decision was made to continue exchanging experience within the Black and Caspian sea projects (BCSEA) in 2020.
One of the important practical questions on the maritime rescue coordination centers activity was announced to be the coordination of actions between MRCC on the international level.
It is also important, that starting with 1st February 2017 Ukraine is a beneficiary country of the project "Maritime Safety, Security and Marine environmental Protection in the Black and Caspian Sea Regions", which is being implemented by EMSA during 2017 -2021.
