The representatives of State Enterprise "Maritime Search and Rescue Service" completed a basic course on Maritime search and rescue from 12th to 19th of August.
In the Headquarters of the Estonian Police and Border Guard Ukrainian maritime rescuers fully completed a Basic maritime SAR course under the supervision of experienced Estonian instructors.
The course consisted of theoretical material and practical workshops, which were worked out in the open sea. Maritime rescuers performed practical exercises in the Baltic sea in harsh weather conditions under the supervision of experienced instructors and coaches.
During practical workshops maritime rescuers of SE "MSRS" received valuable experience of working out actions while conducting SAR operations using specialized SAR helicopter, including hoisting suffered people from the life raft.
The attention was also paid to highly important matters, such as self-rescue at sea and use of personal rescue equipment. For this purpose, the instructors created the hardest possible conditions while conducting practical exercises in cold waters of the Baltic sea.
Besides, an important step in the professional training of the rescuers was their mental preparation, stress resistance and the ability to take decisions very quickly no matter how hard the environment conditions are.
After finishing the course, all the representatives of SE "MSRS" received a related certificate.
The rescuers noted, that taking part in such events helps to enhance professional skills, necessary for the conductions of search and rescue operations.
And finally, the training of personnel on the platforms of foreign specialized establishments ensures the increase of efficiency during conductions of SAR operations by SE "Maritime Search and Rescue Service", which creates safe and reliable conditions for the merchant fleet and safety of human's life at sea within the SAR region of Ukraine.
