The meeting of administrative staff of Sate Enterprise "Maritime Search and Rescue Service" with the Head of Sate Service of Maritime and Inland Water Transport of Ukraine Dmytro Petrenko, took place in Odessa on February 14th .
First Deputy Head of the service, Dmytro Barynov, as well as Harbor Masters and heads of interregional directorates of Maritime Administration also took part in the meeting.
The Director of SE "MSRS" Viktor Sudarev told about the problems of maritime safety within search and rescue region of Ukraine as well as about the tasks of the service.
" Despite the loss of objects in the Crimean Peninsula, due to its unlawful occupation by the neighboring counterpart state, Ukraine continues to fulfil its duties regarding search and rescue in the maritime search and rescue region.
"To increase the efficiency of Ukraine as a coastal state, the measures to fulfil the Development Strategy of SE "MSRS" should be taken immediately", stressed Viktor Sudarev.
"The single policy of organization and fulfilment of search and rescue at sea, provision of constant rescue readiness and coordination of search and rescue activities are the main tasks solved by SE "MSRS", stated Dmytro Petrenko.
