On June 6 State Enterprise "Marine Search and Rescue Service" of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine for the first time took part in international exercises on the Black Sea together with Romania.
During the exercises a joint search and rescue operation was carried out on the border of search and rescue regions of Romanian and Ukraine. The coordination of the operation was performed by Maritime Rescue Coordination Center Constanza and State Maritime Rescue Coordination Center of SE "MSRS".
The Romanian search and rescue forces and SAR units of SE "MSRS" took part in the conduction of exercises.
The tasks were fulfilled according to the training plan.
Given exercises proved once again the high level of cooperation of search and rescue services of Ukraine and Romania in terms of ensuring the common search and rescue operations on the Black Sea.
The exercises were held following the discussions and decision taken during the 14th annual BS SAR Conference held on 20th-21st of September 2017 in Odessa, Ukraine, and based on its results, the State Enterprise "Marine Search and Rescue Service" together with Romanian colleagues decided to conduct joint Ukrainian-Romanian exercises involving SAR units of both countries.
