On March 17th in Berdiansk the representatives of state enterprise "Marine Search and Rescue Service" of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine took part in the meeting of the heads on entities and organizations concerning coordination and efficient conduction of SAR operations in the Sea of Azov region. First deputy head of the Berdiansk border guard, head of coordination department of State Emergency Service in Berdiansk, deputy director of municipal rescue diving service in Berdiansk, chief state inspector on transport safety in Zaporizka region and other heads of government entities.
The questions discussed are of high importance on the eve of opening of navigation of the small fleet along the Sea of Azov coast in the area of responsibility of Ukraine.
At the beginning of the meeting the level of cooperation during the conduction of SAR operations in 2017 and possible ways of its improving were analyzed.
"The main aim of Maritime Coordination Sub-center Berdiansk (MRSC) is coordination of SAR activities with engagement of SAR forces and units of different organizations and entities, which are in the required region," noted the head of MRSC Serhii Fedchun.
During the meeting it was also emphasized, that the main reasons of emergency situations are the absence of the main skills of ship handling, neglecting of the rescue equipment usage rules, operation of vessels without taking into consideration their load and passenger capacity during bad weather conditions or at night.
According to the results of the meeting the level of cooperation organization was defined as satisfactory, ant the necessity of further cooperation was noted.
