The Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine emphasized the necessity of sustainable development and financing of SE “MSRS” for performing necessary control of the areas of responsibility of Ukraine on the Black sea.

 On February 28th a session devoted to ensuring necessary level of search and rescue in the farthest regions of SAR area and Flight Information Area of Ukraine on the Black sea and the sea of Azov, which are adjacent to the Crimean Peninsula took place. It was chaired by the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Yurii Lavreniuk. The representatives of SE "MSRS", "Ukrainian State Air Traffic Services Enterprise", SE "USPA" and the members of Reform Support team of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine.
 The participants of the session discussed the questions of funding of search and rescue in the areas of the Black sea and the Sea of Azov.
Yurii Lavreniuk informed, that one of the most important liabilities of Ukraine, according to international agreements, is organization, provision and conduction of efficient search and rescue, especially in the areas around temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic Crimea.

 "The only enterprise, that conducts search and rescue on the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov is "Marine Search and Rescue Service" (SE "MSRS"). For the purpose of more effective fulfilling the functions, the strategic development plan of SE "MSRS" is foreseen the expansion of the existing national GMDSS segment (Global Maritime Distress Information System), by unwinding new coastal units. The purchase of modern multipurpose maritime search and rescue vessels and helicopters, for conducting aeronautical search and rescue on the Black sea and the Sea of Azov is also foreseen. Due to this, the Ministry of Infrastructure came to a decision of the necessity of additional funding of the Strategic development plan of SE "MSRS".
 "It is extremely important, at the time of aggressive actions from the side of Russian Federation to ensure stable and sufficient funding of Marine for the necessary control of Flight Information Regions on the Black sea", claimed Yurii Lavreniuk.
The result of the session was the decision to prepare a draft of modifications to the Order of Ministry of Infrastructure concerning the changes of the Strategic development plan of SE "MSRS", elaborate the projects of laws and regulations to ensure the raise of funding of SE "MSRS".
