On the 5th of December the top management of the State Enterprise "Marine Search and Rescue Service" of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine took part in the official event at Odesa Marine Station.
Our colleagues from the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, namely units for special operations on water obtained modern special equipment from the representatives of the Office of the Export Control and Border Security Program of the US Embassy in Ukraine.
Odesa Coast Guard Squad received a container with climate control, several dozens of complete sets for diving, navigators, lifting crane systems including emergency, light-weight body armours with floating compensators and systems of magnetic fixation under water etc.
The Head of the Border Guard Service emphasized: "Today we receive assistance that will increase a possibility of performing of our tasks at sea, not only on the surface, but also under water. Our units of special operations on water will have the most contemporary equipment that allows effectively to counter threats, to take part in special operations, saving in this case life and health of staff. We are especially grateful to the representatives of the US Embassy in Ukraine, namely to Mr. Jay J. Jones, Director of the Export Control and Border Security Program (EXBS) and to Ms. Alona Kutsar, Coordinator of this Program in Ukraine".
It should be noted that the State Enterprise "Marine Search and Rescue Service" of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine cooperates not only with SBGS of Ukraine, but also with other authorities, organizations and enterprises that are parts of the National System of Search and Rescue at the Sea.
