On the 27th of October the State Enterprise "Marine Search and Rescue Service" of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine ensured once again the organization of joint inspection of the experts of the State Service of Ukraine for Transport Safety and Odessa Marine Security Squad of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
In order to detect violations of the legislation of Ukraine on safety of navigation all small fishing vessels were inspected. Some of them violated different safety rules and for this reason a number of administrative protocols were drawn up against them.
Maritime rescuers remind about the necessity to follow the safety rules at sea. Safety at sea is very important for fisherman due to the fact that no fish is worth a human life. The sea is unpredictable, so take necessary measures before you go fishing at sea.
The following items should be on board: lifejackets (for each passenger), compass, first aid kit, VHF radio, flashlights, mobile phone. Before sailing inform someone on shore where you are going and approximate time of your return and also take with you clothes suitable for all weather conditions. Always have with you working and charged mobile phone with contact numbers of the rescue service.
