The training of SAR boats seamen finished

.

 

Crew members of rescue boats of the State Enterprise “Marine Search and Rescue Service” passed the training course in Odessa educational training center for preparation of seamen of SAR boats.

The program of training was developed according to the standards of thee International Convention on Maritime Search and Rescue (SAR-79), the International Aeronautical and Maritime Search and Rescue Manual (IAMSAR) and other international instruments.

The course consisted of theoretical part, with such questions as: organization and realization of search and rescue operations at sea, the reasons and main characteristics of emergency situations, the life saving equipment and other important issues.

Close attention was paid to the practical training of the staff. The crew members worked through the performance during SAR operations, the evacuation of injured person, first aid performance with helicopters involvement, the usage of different rescue equipment and specific SAR techniques and others.

The course was successfully finished by 30 SAR boats rescuers of the State Enterprise “Marine Search and Rescue Service”.

After the training all seamen passed the necessary tests and qualified with the “SAR Unit Seaman” certificates.
